Let’s Talk About Me
- At 26 I feel simultaneously older than my age and younger than my age.
- My students, however, are trying to emphasize the “older than my age” feeling; they seem to like to think of ways they can make me feel out of touch.
- My favorite color is Kelly Green. I’d wear it everyday if I could.
- I have a yellow labrador retriever mix named Potter.
- Yes, Potter is named after the Harry Potter series. They are the only books that Dave and I both love.
- I want to name our next dog (which I want to be a girl) Scout after To Kill a Mockingbird. Dave’s okay with it because he’s an Eagle Scout.
- When Dave proposed to me, the first words out of my mouth were “holy shit.”
- Yes, I’m embarrassed about that now.
- I only think I know what I want to do with my life about 90% of the time. The rest of the time I think I want to start all over.
- If I did start all over, I would never drop my double major in Spanish. Whatever could get me living in Spain would be worth it.
- I don’t believe in regrets.
- I love to cook, and I make a killer Minestrone Soup.
- I love video games. I play our Wii more than Dave does and we will probably buy every Nintendo game system that comes out as long as they keep making Zelda games.
- I miss my dad like crazy, and I think of him at very strange times like when I watch Barbra Streisand or Bette Midler movies.
- Yes, I love Barbra Streisand. Don’t mess with Babs.
- I am a proud liberal but usually get really annoyed with liberal “figure heads.”
- I could live off of Kraft cheese slices and Triscuits.
- I have the soul of an outdoorswoman but the stamina and energy of a couch potato.
- I love a good beer.
- The reason I love a good beer is that I forced myself to drink beer because I thought it’d be cool to be the kind of girl who could walk into a bar and order a beer instead of a complicated “girly” drink.
- I want to live somewhere with temperatures such that I can have my windows open year round.
- Florida doesn’t satisfy the above want because it’s too dang hot most of the time.
- I’m not a big sweets person and I don’t usually eat desserts I make myself, but I’m a sucker for my Oatmeal Raisin Cookies.
- I used to want to get out of Kentucky as fast as I could; now I can’t wait to get back there. Or at least closer.
- You know how your parents tell you that you’ll grow to like food you hated as a child? I hate that they were right! Although I will never ever appreciate saurkraut.
- I am not good at being a person who surfs the internet, though I’m on it constantly. You know how some people have hundreds of pages that they look at throughout the day? Yeah, that’s not me. I have like 6, but I check them about a hundred times a day.
- I get ridiculously excited about public restrooms that have foam soap. The first time I ever saw the foam soap was in the TGI Friday’s I worked at in college. And even though I can and do have foam soap at home now, I still love seeing it out and about.
- I’m too uncoordinated to be any good at playing most sports, but I love watching them – especially college football (go Buckeyes!). I thoroughly hate pro basketball, though.
- I can’t name my favorite book. I have to divide the choices into categories and then I can maybe name a top three.

I didn’t realized you liked beer so much. One of these nights, let’s go out and have a good beer. I could use it!
