Stuff I Like
June 19, 2008
I sat down tonight to write a relatively sappy blog post about living in Tallahassee and, for the first time in almost two years, beginning to feel settled here. But I’m not in the mood for sappy. I’ve had a nice, lazy night with my husband and dog and don’t quite feel like pondering. Instead I have decided I will share with you some things I like:
- Edy’s Fruit Bars. This may seem weird, but I am a little picky about popsicles. I have mildly sensitive teeth and I don’t like biting into cold pieces of ice. But these things are awesome. They actually taste like fruit rather than fruit-flavor-imitation, they’re just soft enough, and Target has them on sale this week two (boxes) for $5. Go get you some.
- Otters. Random, right? Well, no, actually, because for the last week or so we have had an otter living in the pond behind our apartment, and he’s SO cool. He just swims and flips and plays in the water all day; he always looks like he’s having the best time. If he were a teenage human he’d be the kid who hosts the party that everyone wants to go to. I had never thought much of otters before there was one living right behind me, but they are darn cool. Plus, Hermoine Granger’s patronus is an otter, so even better.
- Lost. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this show is awesome. Dave and I are currently in the middle of Season 3 (this being Dave’s first viewing, my second). I can’t wait until Dave is caught up to the present time so we can share theories. It’s like introducing him to The West Wing all over again.
That should be enough to keep you tied over for now. Go to the aquarium and see an otter and then come home and watch Lost while enjoying an Edy’s Fruit Bar. How great a day would that be?
