Potter Update

May 23, 2008

I realized today that I have truly been remiss as a blogger. While I have been able to enjoy to the daily shenanigans of the funniest part of my day, Potter of course, I have failed to share him with my (two) faithful readers. So here are the quirks of my Potter boy.

Recently he’s been laying like this a lot:

It may not seem weird to you, but it freaks me out every time he does it.  He lays his head perfectly parallel on top of his right paw.  It looks so strange, like he’s trying to hide his paw or something, or like he only has one front leg.  Weirdo dog.

And, because it’s the beginning of what already seems to be a very hot summer, he is shedding like a crazy man.  This is the result of about five minutes of Furminating:

It may not look like that much from this angle (I have better pictures, but Potter wanted me to use this one because he thinks it shows off his best side), but that hair filled up a plastic grocery bag, and that’s without all of the hair the wind blew away.  And I brushed just as much off of him the very next day.  The shedding seems to be lessening, but I still need to vacuum about every other day.  Yet another joy of summer in Tallahassee.

And finally, a video.  Dave posted this on his blog a week or so ago, but since no one reads his blog because he doesn’t update it frequently enough, I feel totally justified in reposting it. Dave and I taught Potter a new game and he loved it.  Enjoy:

So there he is, my little Potter boy.  I’m sad to say it, but at almost a year and a half, he seems to be growing out of his puppyhood.  He’s settling into a fine, adult dog, though luckily no less neurotic and enjoyable than when we first got him:)

I sure hope that one day Potter and Nash can hang out. I think they’d have a BLAST!! I had to take Nash to the kennel today at lunch because I’m going to visit my parents tomorrow… He was so sad when I left him. Looks like Potter is loving life in FL!!! Miss you! :-)

Thought Indy was good but you cannot go into it thinking it’ll be anywhere as good as the old ones. Had a lot of cheesy lines, which the old ones did too but we accepted it back then. End was a little goofy but they tried to do something radical, which I think they had to.

You Think You Know Me?

I am a wife, "mom" to my dog Potter, daughter, sister, (awesome) aunt, friend, grad student, English teacher, book-a-holic, want-to-be-chef, beginning knitter, traveler, and collector of hobbies. This blog is the place I keep up with friends and family who live too far away, let people in who might not know me so well, jot down my thoughts, and document my life so it doesn't pass by without my noticing. Take a look around. Leave a comment. Point and laugh. Enjoy.
