It’s amazing the silly things that can make you feel special and wise…today, it was a phone call from my older sister. Life has been stressful with my family lately, mostly with Mom but it has bounced off of everyone really. So, I never really know what to think when Michelle calls. Today, she called to ask what I thought of The Passion of the Christ. It was a simple question, but I got to talk about my religious studies knowledge, which was great because I miss those classes so much! And I got to talk about religion in general with my sister, which I don’t do nearly enough of…with my family in general. It made me happy that she thought to call me when wondering about religion (because I very rarely think of myself as knowledge about religion, historical or personal), and it gave me some of the confidence I’ve been lacking lately to hear myself sound intelligent on the spot. Perhaps there’s hope for me afterall, hope for my faith, my family, my career…just hope. It was a good way to end the day.

You Think You Know Me?

I am a wife, "mom" to my dog Potter, daughter, sister, (awesome) aunt, friend, grad student, English teacher, book-a-holic, want-to-be-chef, beginning knitter, traveler, and collector of hobbies. This blog is the place I keep up with friends and family who live too far away, let people in who might not know me so well, jot down my thoughts, and document my life so it doesn't pass by without my noticing. Take a look around. Leave a comment. Point and laugh. Enjoy.
